Do you remember the words "Human Link Project" that often appeared on my social media platform a few days ago? It sounds cool, but it is actually a collection of three aspects of sports science: "medical testing", "special training" and " sports nutrition ".

Of course, the content of sports science is far more than this, but because I am a practitioner of sports nutrition products, I plan to start from familiar aspects and use my own body to conduct experiments, and share the results with everyone for reference.

Of course, everyone's body and lifestyle are different. If you want to try it after reading this, please be sure to discuss it with a professional first. Because this is not an advertisement like "Since I drank this product every day, my belly has disappeared" below the farm article, I hope to promote correct and scientifically supported concepts and let more people understand "Regarding exercise and health, you can have more suitable choices for yourself."

What is your real need?

"What percentage of X oil do you eat?" This sentence is accompanied by the image of the brand spokesperson. Recently, my life has been filled with these marketing and advertisements by algorithms. Not only health foods, but also advertisements for various sports supplements are everywhere.

When you click on an ad, you will see a wide range of data and functions. Before adding the product to the shopping cart, please turn off the information and spend a minute to think carefully about "What are my real needs?" and "What information should I base my decision on when choosing a product?"

Is it the halo of the spokesperson? The endorsement of the internet celebrity or contestant? The information provided by the manufacturer? Or the recommendation of friends and family?

Do the living backgrounds and habits of each person in the options look exactly the same as yours? Different diets, schedules, and training make people with the same exercise habits have different exercise performances. So how can you expect the products recommended by others to truly meet your needs?

Scientific testing

After coming into contact with functional medicine, I believe it will shake up the current market, because through science and testing, the elements that the body needs and lacks can be fully presented to us through data, and targeted adjustments and supplements can be made, investing every precious resource in the right direction.

My ultimate goal is to improve my athletic performance, so this time I did tests on athletic performance and food allergens, in addition to many other types of functional tests.

Test results

The results showed my condition as shown in the picture. The key points are: stress hormones, thyroid function, adrenal function, antioxidant capacity, and acute inflammation of the body. These are all closely related to sports performance and health! The biggest difference from general health checkups is that the meaning behind the data will be fully explained after the test, for example:

● Excessive levels of stress hormones <br>Affect muscle repair, leading to decreased muscle strength and endurance, while also suppressing immunity and increasing the risk of infection

● Hypothyroidism <br>Affects metabolism, reaction and intelligence, and accelerates cell aging

● Adrenal insufficiency <br>Lower body temperature, decreased metabolism, decreased muscle mass, poor endurance, easy fatigue and lack of physical strength

● Low antioxidant capacity <br>Insufficient ability to balance free radicals, which can easily cause secondary body damage, etc.

The test results are like the end of a runner’s sports career (I thought before I saw the report, it would be all green, just like a health checkup). But the value of functional medicine is not just testing, but understanding the body’s low functions through testing, and helping to improve them through science, nutrition, and other methods, so as to reduce the risk of sports injuries and improve sports performance.

Adjustment, Improvement and Enhancement

After the results came out, I started a three-month collaboration with my exclusive consultant. After understanding my target events, nutrition, and training content, he made customized adjustment suggestions for me, such as improving my body’s low functions through supplements, adjusting my lifestyle, and continuously communicating my physical condition.

Each change takes time to accumulate, but the additions and adjustments made to the problems are very significant!

Before the adrenal gland function was adjusted, fatigue was always with me, from the morning after finishing my class and going to work to the evening. During this process, I competed with Zhou Gong countless times and was defeated every time... Because I was slow to regulate temperature, I often lost my strength in high temperatures and could not perform well in training and competitions.

But this time, I was amazed after only one month of adjustment. The most obvious thing was the adjustment of nutrition. I used to drink coffee every day, but now the only drink I drink every day is "water". Yes, not only do I not drink coffee, I don't even drink tea or other energy supplements! Not only did I get healthier and change, but I also saved a lot of money!

As for the issue of temperature regulation, I feel that when training in a more extreme environment, the physical energy consumption is not as exaggerated as in the past. The overall physical strength, spirit and performance have all been significantly improved.

The most important thing is the sports performance, which makes me cry. Faced with the daily schedule, even if the schedule is full, I can complete each training session with a reasonable allocation of physical strength (without reducing speed or volume).

The difference in recovery and fatigue after training is huge. Even the day after the intense class, my body still has enough mental and physical strength to face the challenges in life. The whole change makes me full of confidence in the upcoming target competition (due to space constraints, the results of the competition will be shared in other chapters)

in conclusion

Scientific training is not just a slogan, but a professionalism that brings together all aspects of sports science. If you want to improve your sports performance and health like me, the help provided by functional medicine data is absolutely indispensable.

We hope that after sharing these, athletes will understand that every precious resource should be valuable, and they should not buy unsuitable or even unnecessary products because of rhetoric or advertisements. The only solution to addressing real needs and problems is to prescribe the right medicine.

The method I have found so far is functional medicine testing. If you have other ideas, please share them. The field of sports science is so broad and interesting! I hope that through communication, more possibilities for progress will be stimulated.
