About the Test

Why is fatty acid balance linked to inflammation risk?

  • Inflammation is the common root cause of almost all chronic diseases, everything from heart disease, diabetes, dementia, and even cancer are linked to low-grade chronic inflammation.
  • Fatty acids are the main materials of cell membranes, which also determines the intensity of the release of inflammatory signals.
  • When the ratio is unbalanced, cells are more likely to "overreact" or "underreact", leading to immune disorders and increased risk of chronic diseases.

Who is suitable for the "Cell Membrane Fatty Acid Balance Test" test?

  • Often supplement with fish oil or vegetable oil, but not sure whether it is effectively absorbed
  • Long-term vegetarianism, eating out, uneven fat intake, worry about imbalanced fatty acid ratio
  • Chronic inflammation, skin problems, mood swings or memory loss
  • Want to improve metabolism, brain health and cardiovascular function
  • Nutritional interventions (such as omega-3 supplementation) are being conducted to examine the actual impact

Cell membrane fatty acid balance detection

Red blood cell membrane fatty acid analysis reveals the fatty acid intake and metabolism status of the past 2-3 months, comprehensively grasps indicators such as Omega-3, 6, 9 and trans fatty acids, and evaluates inflammation risk, metabolic stability and cell membrane health

Common Myths

Have you ever felt this way?

I'm taking fish oil so is that ok?

The fatty acid index depends onAbsorption and conversion efficiency, not just supplement

Is it healthier to eat less oil?

Unsaturated fats are key to maintaining the stability of brain nerves, hormones and cell membranes

Is trans fat only found in processed foods?

Similar substances may also be produced in the body due to stress and metabolic abnormalities

Test items and specifications

Omega-3 fatty acids
  1. Alpha-linolenic acid (ALA, C18:3n3)
Plant-based omega-3 sources, such as flaxseed oil, chia seeds, etc., are precursors to EPA, but the conversion rate is limited.
  2. Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA, C20:5n3)
It has anti-inflammatory properties and is an important fatty acid that improves vascular elasticity and lowers triglycerides. It mainly comes from deep-sea fish oil.
  3. Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA, C22:6n3)
An important component of brain and retinal structures, helps with neurological health and anti-inflammatory properties
  4. Omega-3 total
The ratio of total ALA, EPA, and DHA is an overall indicator for predicting systemic inflammatory risk and cardiovascular protection
Omega-6 fatty acids
  1. Linolenic acid (LA, C18:2n6)
Commonly found in vegetable oils (such as sunflower oil and soybean oil), it is the main source of Omega-6. Excessive intake may promote inflammation.
  2. Gamma-linolenic acid (GLA, C18:3n6)
Has anti-inflammatory potential, commonly found in evening primrose oil, and must be converted from LA
  3. Dihomo-gamma-linolenic acid (DGLA, C20:3n6)
An intermediate metabolite between GLA and AA that can be converted into less pro-inflammatory prostaglandins
  4. Arachidonic acid (AA, C20:4n6)
Pro-inflammatory fatty acids, the end products of omega-6, are associated with chronic inflammation, cardiovascular and autoimmune diseases
  5. Omega-6 total
The total amount of LA, GLA, DGLA, and AA reflects the intake and synthesis of Omega-6
Monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFAs)
  1. Oleic acid (C18:1n9)
Olive oil is the main component, has anti-inflammatory and lipid-improving functions, and is the main representative of MUFA
  2. Nervonic acid (C24:1n9)
Related to the structure of nerve myelin sheath, with potential impact on the development and repair of the nervous system
  3. MUFA total
The total amount of monounsaturated fatty acids helps maintain cell membrane fluidity and metabolic balance

Saturated fatty acids (SFA)
  1. Palmitic acid (C16:0)
The most common saturated fatty acid is associated with insulin resistance and visceral fat accumulation
  2. Stearic acid (C18:0)
Relatively neutral saturated fatty acids, from meat and cocoa butter, are not easily converted into cholesterol
  3. Behenic acid (C22:0)
Long-chain saturated fatty acids, which are synthesized in small quantities by the human body, are partly related to nerve function
  4. Lignoceric acid (C24:0)
Very long-chain fatty acids, involved in nerve cell membrane structure, may be associated with metabolic syndrome risk
  5. SFA total
Saturated fatty acids: Too high a level may increase cardiovascular risk and inflammatory stress
Trans fatty acids
  1. Trans fatty acids
Common in processed fats and oils in the food industry, highly associated with cardiovascular disease, inflammation and cholesterol imbalance, should be avoided as much as possible
