5 biomarkers

MMA (Methylmalonic Acid)
The marker of whether B12 is genuinely being activated and used. A normal blood B12 alongside raised MMA means the B12 you took in never reached the energy metabolism step.
5-MTHF (5-Methyltetrahydrofolate, active folate)
The active form of folate, directly involved in methylation and DNA repair. When it runs low, repair and energy conversion stay stuck even if folate intake is sufficient.
UMFA (Unmetabolized Folic Acid)
Synthetic folic acid that was never metabolized. Too much of it interferes with the efficiency of the methylation cycle — the classic signal of "supplemented but unusable".
Arginine
The precursor of nitric oxide (NO), affecting blood flow, oxygen delivery and cellular energy regulation. When it runs low, both exercise performance and recovery speed suffer.
TMAO (Trimethylamine N-oxide)
A substance produced when gut bacteria metabolise red meat and carnitine. A raised level is associated with damage to the vascular endothelium, and reflects the interaction between your gut microbiome and dietary pattern.

If I take a nutrient, surely I absorb it?
